Kenya citizens in the diaspora are expected to be registered and participate in the General Elections as provided for in Article 82 (1) (e), which calls for "the progressive registration of citizens residing outside Kenya, and the progressive realization of their right to vote".
In this regard, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission of Kenya (IEBC) has requested for an updated data of Kenyans in the diaspora for purposes of assisting the Commission to adequately plan for the whole exercise.
