NOTICE: 

The Government of the Republic of Kenya is phasing out the old generation dark blue machine readable passports. H.E the President of the Republic of Kenya has given Kenyans up to 31st December, 2021 to replace this old generation dark blue machine readable passport with the new East African Community E-passport. Please take advantage of this extension.

 

The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Ankara is now authorised to receive applications for the new E.A.C digital e-passports and forward to Nairobi for further processing. 

 

1. APPLICATION FOR EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITY DIGITAL E-PASSPORTS

 

Application for this passport is done online through www.ecitizen.go.ke. All Kenyans in Diaspora are notified that the Kenya Embassy in Ankara has now been mandated to receive applications for the new East African Community digital e-passports and forward to Nairobi for further processing. 

 

Kenyans in Diaspora who wishes to renew or apply for the new digital e-passport and submit to Kenya Embassy in Ankara are advised as follows;

 

  1. All applications for e-passports shall be made online through the ecitizen portal, (https://passport.ecitizen.go.ke)
  2. Applicants must ensure that the online application is done carefully and all details given as required. Incomplete online application will be rejected.
  3. That all the required uploads/attachments are correctly done using the right format and correct sizes.
  4. During submission, the e-passport applicant MUST appear in person before the consular officer handling passport matters at the embassy.
  5. The applicant must bring;

a). Duly filled e-passport application print out (form 19)

b). Payment receipt print out

c). Two ICAO Standard recent Passport Size Photograph (size 2 by 2 inches) taken on a white background. NOTE: anything short of this requirement will be rejected.

d). Specimen signature on a white background.

e). Original Second-generation Identity card for any applicant above 18 years.

f). The original Kenya passport being replaced.

g). For parents applying for their children who are under 18 years, to bring their original Kenya identity card, Passport, and original Birth certificates for the applicant (child).

  1. All applicants MUST call the Embassy to make appointment for submitting their documents.

 

Steps of application

 

1. Create and login to the e-citizen account and select Immigration services which will finally take you to passport application.

2. Read the instructions carefully then fill the application form 19 online.

3. Select the mode of payment and pay for the relevant passport fees.

4. Download and print the application form and copy of the application Invoice (Receipt).

5. Call the Kenya Embassy Ankara phone +90 312 491-4508 during working hours to book appointment.

6. Submit the application form in person to the consular officer at Kenya Embassy in Ankara. 7. Please Declare All Your Children during Passport Application.

8. Ensure the application is done carefully and all required details are given and the supporting documents attached.

 

During the submission you need the following:

 

  1. Applicants MUST appear in person.
  2. Recent clear ICAO standard digital photo size 2 by 2 inches taken on a white background.
  3.  An e-citizen pre-filled passport application form 19 and copy of payment invoice.
  4.  Original Birth Certificate and copy.
  5.  Original National ID Card.

 

Remember to upload and attach the following

 

1. Recommenders ID card copy.

2. Old passport for replacement plus copies of last three pages.

3. Parents National ID cards copies or Death Certificate if deceased.

4. For a Lost case, a sworn affidavit, a police abstract and an explanation letter on circumstances under which the passport got lost.

5. For Mutilated case an explanation letter is required to explain the circumstances of the mutilation.

6. For a child’s passport application, parent will apply using his/her e-citizen account and attach his/her identification documents (Kenya identity card and passport copy), Child birth certificate (if its international, it must be translated and notarised)

 

NOTE:

• Ensure you are using your e-citizen account to apply for your own passport. Applications applied on behalf of others will be rejected.

• Applicant is required to carefully select where he/she will submit the application. 

• During submission, applicant must come with original documents and photocopies of the same.

 

2. Application for an emergency travel document

 
Form 19 duly completed (click to download form)
Letter explaining why you need emergency certificate,
Three coloured passport size photographs,
Copy of Identity card or passport copy,
Copy of ticket to Kenya.
Passport fees of US dollars $30 (banked to the Embassy account)

1. CHILDREN ARE NO LONGER ENDORSED IN PARENTS PASSPORTS
2. PASSPORTS ARE NO LONGER RENEWED BY STAMPING
3. APPLICANTS ARE ADVISED TO PAY FOR SERVICES AS ADVISED UNDER EACH SERVICE
4. ALL POSTAGE COSTS WILL BE HANDLED BY THE RECIPIENT
