On 9th April 2019, Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Johnson Mogoa K. Ondieki, CBS, presented his letters of credence to the President of Turkey, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya to the Republic of Turkey.
After the presentation ceremony, the two discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation such as enhancing the trade volumes between Kenya and Turkey. President Erdoğan stated that Turkey was ready to support the affordable housing of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four Agenda.
In return, Ambassador Johnson Ondieki thanked the President and welcomed the fact that the citizens of the two countries shared common values. He further noted that the growing number of Kenyan students studying in Turkey would help deepen our bilateral relationship.
President Recep Erdoğan congratulated the Ambassador on the occasion of his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic endeavour.
Kenya’s Ambassador was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Jane W. Githinji, and the Embassy staff.
